When I was little I used to think that courage was the absence of fear… Just as darkness is the absence of light…
“Darkness, in contrast with brightness, is a relative absence of visible light. It is the appearance of black in a color space. Darkness is nothing, it does not exist”
Now if darkness is the absence of light… meaning that darkness it’s not really darkness but just a name; then, is courage just a name to justify the absence of FEAR? ~ I don’t think so.!
Fear stops us... Holds us back; Fear makes us sick to our stomach. It causes us to think irrationally & sometimes fear becomes so strong that it paralyzes us from action, it becomes debilitating.Fear is a giant we dont want to face because its easier to ignore...
But at the same time fear is NOTHING, if we think about it; Fear its just a feeling and it takes COURAGE to step on it.
There comes a time in life when we have to put our foot down and say, "I'm not going to give in to fear anymore! Despite how scared I am, the tremor in my voice, and the churning in my stomach, I am going to do what I believe is right, what God has taught me is right!”
A simple decision like that can change the world.
One of my favorite stories in the Bible is the story of Moses… I bet Moses was scared to death when God told him to go talk to the Pharaoh and tell him to let the Israelites go...
There is also the story of Daniel and the lions, Joshua, Esther, Nehemiah, David and Goliath, etc.

I bet they were all scared but at the same time I know they knew where their strength came from – GOD- .
They all faced their giants and changed History forever.. and even tho that was a long time ago, their stories keep on changing lives.

~ Today I understand that COURAGE is NOT the absence of fear, it is being afraid & still doing what must be done, what God has called us to do.
